Mounting Instructions
Step 1 — Remove Factory Fog Light
Using a ratchet, remove the four 15mm factory bolts holding the bumper support brace. Unplug the factory fog lamp and remove the two wire clips from the factory lamp bracket. Remove the four 8mm bolts holding the factory lamp to the bumper and pull it free. (F250 models with halogen fog lights: also remove the four factory bolts and release the two clips holding the factory fog light bracket.) Remove the factory bezel by pressing in on the plastic tabs and pushing outward.
Step 2 — Assemble and Install Fog Pocket Kit
Assemble the SS3 pods onto the pocket kit bracket using the supplied hardware and U-brackets — make sure the backsides of the U-brackets are flush with the bracket, and the sides of the SS3 pods are flush with the front. Install the assembled bracket with pods into the front bumper using the supplied hardware.
Wiring Instructions
This kit provides three lighting functions: road-legal fog lights (connected to factory fog connector), off-road lights (controlled by included toggle switch or factory auxiliary switch), and ambient backlight illumination. Avoid routing the harness near heat sources or moving parts.
Step 3 — Route and Connect Harness
Route the off-road wiring harness to the needed locations. Place the relay near the fuse box under the hood. Run output wires to each fog pocket. If using the toggle switch, route the switch wire into the cabin on the driver's side. Connect the positive and negative battery wires to the battery or main power terminals near the fuse box.
Step 4 — Connect Backlight and Reassemble
For parking light backlight function, tap both pods' backlight wires to the parking light wire. For supplemental turn signal function, tap to the turn signal wire. Use a voltmeter to confirm the correct wire before tapping — wire colors vary by trim:
- Factory halogen fog lights: Parking — Blue/Grey (both sides). Turn signal — Blue/Green (LH) and Yellow/Blue (RH).
- Factory LED fog lights: Parking — Green/Orange (LH) and Brown/Yellow (RH). Turn signal — Blue/Green (LH) and Yellow (RH).
Reinstall the bumper support brace with the four 15mm bolts. Repeat on the other side and check all functions.
