Note: The cover behind the vented grille must be removed for installation. If your truck has a solid lower grille, you'll need to retrofit a vented lower grille for proper installation.
Tools Required
- 1/4" and 3/8" ratchets
- 8mm shallow socket
- 10mm and 13mm sockets
- Wire cutters
- Metal pry tool
- Plastic trim removal tool
Grille Preparation
Step 1 — Remove Splash Shield and Assess Grille Type
If equipped, remove the plastic splash shield from underneath the engine bay. If your vehicle already has a vented lower grille, skip ahead to Step 3. If you have a solid lower grille, continue with Step 2.
Step 2 — Swap to Vented Grille (Solid Grille Vehicles Only)
Disconnect the parking sensor harnesses on both sides if equipped. Using a metal pry tool, remove the 9 lower plastic clips. Using an 8mm shallow socket, loosen (but don't remove) the 9 nuts on top. Slide the solid grille forward to remove. If equipped, swap parking sensors to the new vented grille — note orientation before removal and label each sensor (LH/RH). Pry the retention tabs outward and carefully pull each sensor free. Remove brackets by compressing the slim tabs and pushing forward. Reverse the process to install on the vented grille. Slide the vented grille into the bumper opening, loosely secure with the 9 upper nuts/bolts, install the 9 lower clips, then tighten. Reconnect parking sensor harnesses.
Step 3 — Remove Rear Cover
On vehicles with a vented lower grille, there's a rear cover behind the bumper attached to the backside of the grille. Access from underneath the vehicle. Pull the retention tabs away from their clips and slide the cover back and away to remove.
Light Bar Mounting
Step 4 — Install Brackets and Mount Light Bar
On the passenger side, remove the two 13mm bolts from the factory bumper support bracket (do not remove the bracket itself). Install the Stealth bracket marked "R" onto the support bracket using the removed bolts. Tighten with a 13mm socket. Repeat on the driver's side with the bracket marked "L". Slide the SS18 LED light bar into place between the two brackets and install using the included M6 hardware — hand-tighten only for now.
Step 5 — Wire, Test, and Aim
Route and connect the wiring harness per the included wiring guide. Test function and aim the LED light bar. Once properly aimed, tighten the M6 hardware using a 10mm socket to complete the installation.
