Installation Instructions
Step 1 — Remove the Factory Grille
Remove the hood cover by firmly grabbing it and pulling away, starting at the top left. At the bottom of the grille, use a 10mm wrench to remove the two bolts. Release the two push clips and remove the grille.
Step 2 — Assemble the SS3 LED Pods
Attach each SS3 pod to the grille bracket. Slide the universal bracket underneath the mounting tab, drop in the carriage bolt, and secure with the included washer, lock washer, and nut. Align the back of the universal bracket with the back of the grille mounting tab so the pod is centered. Tighten with a 13mm wrench. Repeat for the other pod.
Step 3 — Install the Assembled Grille
Push the grille bracket with attached pods into the grille slot. Route the wire up and over the radiator. Secure the grille using the included hardware — push four bolts through the grille, align them with the vehicle's mounting tabs, and install washers and locking nuts. Tighten with a 10mm wrench and 4mm Allen key. Be careful not to overtighten.
Step 4 — Prepare the Vehicle Interior
Disconnect the passenger seat belt harness. Adjust the seat forward and use an 18mm ratchet to remove the two gold locking nuts behind the seat. Move the seat all the way back and use a 13mm wrench and ratchet to remove the two front mounting bolts. Lift the seat out. Remove the console access panels by pulling them away from the retention tabs to access the battery.
Step 5 — Connect the Wiring Harness
Use a 10mm socket to disconnect the positive battery lead and secure it away from the terminal. Peel back the rubber cover on the bus bar, loosen the positive and negative connections with a 10mm ratchet, and add the harness leads. Tighten securely and reattach the rubber cover. Route the toggle switch and DT connectors to their desired locations, avoiding moving parts and the driveshaft.
Step 6 — Route the DT Connector
Using a wire fisher, attach the DT connector and route it toward the front of the vehicle through the firewall. Once pulled through, route the DT connector to the grille area and plug it into the two-way splitter connecting the SS3 pods. Feed excess wire back toward the firewall and secure with zip ties.
Step 7 — Test and Finalize
Reconnect the battery and test the switch and SS3 pods. Adjust pod aim as needed, then tighten securely with a 5mm Allen wrench. Secure all loose wiring with zip ties and reassemble the vehicle. The install is complete.
