Tools Required
- 10mm socket
- 10mm wrench
- 12mm socket
- Trim removal tool
- Cutting tool (optional — SS30 only)
Installation Instructions
Step 1 — Using a 10mm socket, remove the four bolts securing the top of the grille.
Step 2 — Use a trim tool to release the push clips along each side of the grille, then carefully pull the grille straight out to remove it.
Step 3 — Using a 10mm socket, remove the two bolts from the top of the bumper on each side, plus the three bolts underneath the bumper.
Step 4 — Using a 12mm socket, remove the four bolts inside each front wheel well.
Step 5 — Disconnect all electrical connectors behind the bumper, then carefully pull the bumper cover away from the vehicle and set it on a padded surface.
Step 6 — Using a 12mm socket, remove the six nuts securing the crash bar and pull it away from the vehicle.
NOTE: At this point, you have access to the crash bar support bracket studs. Follow ONLY the section below that matches your lightbar length (SS30 or SS40).
SS30 Installation
Step 7 (SS30) — Position the two mounting brackets onto the three studs on each crash bar support bracket. Make sure the bracket flanges face inward (toward center). Reinstall the nuts and leave slightly loose for alignment.
Step 8 (SS30) — Using the included hardware and a 10mm wrench, secure the SS30 lightbar to the brackets. Orient the bar so the harness exits on the driver side. Leave hardware slightly loose until level and centered.
Step 9 (SS30) — Use a level to confirm the lightbar is straight, then tighten all bracket and mounting hardware. Reinstall the crash bar and test-fit the bumper cover to verify the lightbar is centered in the opening. Adjust if needed.
Step 10 (SS30, Optional) — If the lightbar does not sit flush within the bumper opening, carefully trim the inner support rib on the bumper cover using a cutting tool for proper clearance.
SS40 Installation
Step 11 (SS40) — With the bumper cover face-down on a padded surface, release the plastic clips retaining the lower grille insert and remove it. The grille insert is not reused for the SS40 installation.
Step 12 (SS40) — Position the SS40 mounting brackets onto the three studs on each crash bar support bracket. Make sure the bracket flanges face outward (away from center). Reinstall the nuts and leave slightly loose.
Step 13 (SS40) — Using the included hardware and a 10mm wrench, secure the SS40 lightbar to the brackets. Orient the bar so the harness exits on the driver side. Leave hardware slightly loose.
Step 14 (SS40) — Use a level to confirm the lightbar is straight, then tighten all bracket and mounting hardware. Reinstall the crash bar and test-fit the bumper cover to verify centering. Adjust if needed.
Final Steps (Both)
Step 15 — Route the lightbar harness along the driver side of the vehicle following existing OEM wiring paths. Secure with zip ties away from sharp edges, moving components, and high-heat areas. Reinstall the bumper cover by reversing the removal process — reconnect all electrical connectors, reinstall all fasteners and clips, and confirm everything is fully seated and aligned. Connect the power leads to the battery and mount the switch inside the cabin. The install is complete.
