- Torx T10 screwdriver
- Dremel rotary tool
- Wire cutter
Mounting Instructions
Step 1 — Remove the Reflector and Bracket
Remove the screws holding the turn signal assembly in place. Remove the chrome reflector unit by depressing the clip on the back of the driver. Remove the Torx screws holding the metal bracket to the chrome reflector and separate them. Bring the metal bracket to a clean area.
Step 2 — Swap the LED Boards
Use a Dremel tool to remove the metal rivets holding the factory LED panels to the turn signal housing — the panels should fall off. Cut the wires from the factory driver board and remove the panels (leave the factory driver and side marker in place). Place the new Diode Dynamics LED boards into position on the metal bracket — all holes should align perfectly. Fasten with the included twist-ties passed through the holes where the metal rivets were. Adhesives are not recommended as they may fail over time.
Step 3 — Reassemble and Route Wiring
Reinstall the chrome reflector to the housing using the alignment notches — push gently into position (do not use excessive force to avoid damaging LEDs). Replace the Torx screws. Reinstall the turn signal housing into the main headlamp housing. Route the RGBW ribbon cable and 2-wire connector out of the headlamp, sealing any holes you create. If desired, plug the side marker into the factory driver board. Replace the Torx screws and headlamp lens.
Wiring Instructions
Step 4 — Connect the Driver and Controller
Connect the LED board to the driver. Using the JST-to-M8 adapter wire included with the Diode Dynamics RGBW controller (sold separately), connect the driver to the controller.
Important: Do NOT plug the LED panel directly into the controller without the driver. The LEDs must be connected to the driver first to control power.
Step 5 — Connect Power and Complete
Connect the RGBW controller to 12V power and ground — this dictates when the panels turn on. Mount drivers and controller outside the headlight for serviceability, away from the engine block. Tuck all wires clear of hot or moving parts. Test thoroughly, reseal the headlight, and reinstall onto the vehicle. The install is complete.
