Step 1: Locate the Factory Connectors

Start by getting underneath the rear of your truck and locating the two factory 6-pin connectors. You'll find these on either side of the spare tire. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with their location and accessibility.

Step 2: Safely Disconnect Factory Connectors

Before attempting to disconnect the 6-pin connectors, slide the red locking tab into the unlocked position. This is a crucial safety step that prevents damage to the connectors. Once unlocked, carefully disconnect the factory connectors.

Step 3: Connect the 6-Pin Connectors In Line

2. Apply forward pressure to slide the lamp out of the receiver
3. Unplug the wire harness

Modification Steps

Step 1: Push the retention tab outward and use a cutting tool to carefully cut out the circular section on the tab. Repeat this process on the other side.

Step 2: Connect the HitchMount Pod to the harness and slide it into the trailer hitch receiver.

Step 3: Slide the hitch pin into place with one hand while aligning the HitchMount with your other hand. The fit should be snug to prevent rattling and movement.

If you encounter any issues during installation:

• Connectors won't disconnect: Ensure the red locking tab is fully in the unlocked position
• LED pod doesn't light up: Check all connections and verify the vehicle's fuse box
• Loose fit in receiver: Verify you're using the correct receiver size (2-inch standard)
