Installation Video
Note: This kit uses both factory and included hardware to mount the bracket to the vehicle.
Tools Required
- 10mm, 17mm sockets
- 14mm socket
- M6, M10, M12 torque wrenches
- Metric wrenches
- Ratchet and extensions
Mounting Instructions
Step 1 — Remove Grille/Bumper Assembly
Using a 10mm socket, remove the four bolts from the top of the grille. If equipped, disconnect the connectors from both corners of the grille. Remove the four 10mm screws from inside each wheel well (if equipped with over-fender molding, remove the additional screw from the bottom inside of each wheel well opening). Remove the four 10mm bolts from underneath the bumper (if no front spoiler, also remove the four screws underneath). Pull out on both sides to release the clips, then pull the grille/bumper assembly forward to remove.
Step 2 — Install Brackets
Using a 17mm socket, remove the two center bolts on the top side of the crash bar. Using a 14mm socket, remove the two center bolts on the bottom side. Install the new light bar bracket over the crash bar and loosely secure using the original bolts — ensure the DD logo is in the correct orientation. Repeat on the other side.
Step 3 — Mount Light Bar and Tighten
Attach the light bar to the brackets using the included M6 hardware, hand-tightening only. (The SS20 uses an updated internal design but the mounting location and procedure are the same as the SS18.) Once the light bar is mounted, tighten the 17mm and 14mm bolts securing the brackets.
Step 4 — Wire, Test, and Reinstall
Connect the wiring harness per the included guide. Unclip the wire harness clips below the lower grille opening. Test function and aim the light bar — if the light doesn't turn on, try flipping the connector 180°. Tighten the M6 mounting bolts with a 10mm socket. Reinstall the grille/bumper assembly by reversing the removal steps. Reroute the wire harness clips to rest on top of the light bar brackets.
